At 32 years old, Yuuki has built his motorsport journey around a deep passion for rotary engines and the pursuit of pure performance. What started as driving tuned cars on the street eventually evolved into circuit driving, before developing into a full commitment to time attack competition. With a focus on engineering, precision, and pushing limits, his approach to motorsport is all about extracting the maximum potential from both driver and machine.
For him, the appeal of time attack is simple - it is one of the purest forms of motorsport. There are no battles on track and no strategic variables to hide behind. It comes down to a single goal: achieving the fastest possible lap. That pursuit of performance is what inspired him to compete and continues to drive his development today.
One of the biggest highlights of his career came in 2026 when he set the record for the fastest naturally aspirated machine at Tsukuba Circuit. Achieving this milestone while developing a competitive naturally aspirated four-rotor platform marked a significant moment, proving that the iconic rotary engine can still perform at the highest level in modern time attack competition.
Behind the wheel, he competes in a purpose-built Mazda RX-7. At the heart of the build is a naturally aspirated four-rotor 26B engine package developed in collaboration with Scoot Japan. Producing over 600 horsepower and tuned for longevity and stability, the setup focuses on delivering consistent high performance across repeated laps rather than chasing peak numbers.

The car also features a lightweight chassis, aggressive time attack aero, and a fully optimized suspension package designed specifically for circuits such as Tsukuba Circuit and Fuji Speedway. Together, the combination creates a balanced and extremely capable platform for attacking lap records.
Beyond the track, we love to look into the personal lives of these stars!
What is your favourite track or circuit to drive and why?
His favourite circuit is Tsukuba Circuit. The layout is incredibly technical, meaning even the smallest improvement in driving technique or vehicle setup can be reflected immediately in lap times. It is the perfect environment for pushing both driver skill and machine development.
What hobbies do you have outside of racing?
Outside of competition, he enjoys working on project cars and producing automotive content for YouTube. Motorcycles are another passion, offering a different type of performance experience away from four wheels.
Any driving tips you would give to someone starting out in motorsport?
For drivers starting out, the most important focus should be consistency rather than outright speed. Learning to understand the car and developing smooth driving habits will ultimately lead to faster and more controlled lap times.
Dream street car?
When it comes to a dream street machine, the inspiration comes from one of the most legendary rotary race cars ever built - the Mazda 787B. A street-legal machine inspired by its design and sound would be the ultimate dream, combining rotary heritage with modern engineering.
